Get the wood siding look – Without the maintenance

No matter what style of wood siding you are looking to replicate, your qualified, professional contractor can find the style you desire – with the low-maintenance lifestyle you want.

When we tackle a Charlotte home remodeling project, addition or a custom-built home, we always advocate using low-maintenance products whenever possible. This makes so much sense in the long run and gives you as a homeowner more time to enjoy your home as you spend less time maintaining it. One of the new products we love is the Aspyre Collection Artisan series of siding and trim products from James Hardie.

This fiber-cement product gives your home the look of real wood siding without any of the maintenance issues (or worries about termites or other pests). Plus, while more costly than traditional products, you will save on maintenance in the long run, and it is less expensive than other low-maintenance options like stone or brick.

While the durability attracted us, we really fell for the diverse looks of this product. It’s six varied profiles fit well with traditional, coastal or transitional designs. (There is even another related line that works perfectly for modern industrial looks.) It boasts the thickness of real wood, which gives substance to exterior designs.

There’s V-Groove siding that mimics this most traditional of siding types. Shiplap siding replicates traditional cedar siding without the normally associated hazards of moisture and pests. Lap siding mimics a coastal look, while Beaded Lap Siding adds a tailored touch and strong horizontal lines for a more upscale coastal appearance. For more modern styles, consider Square Channel, with wideset channels that create a modern look. Kick that look up a notch with Artisan Bevel Channel, which features even deeper channels for a more upscale appearance.
